Wake Up, Eat Right, Win Your Day!

Updated: Jul 20, 2020

The first thing you eat after a fast is super important. Whether that's actually in the morning or some time later. Choose wisely.

Enter my go-to oatmeal. This is the one I eat almost every day and have for YEARS! All the seeds and nuts used provide so many vitamins and minerals to aid in staying full and getting the proper nutrition to start your day. Whatever time that is.

Serves 1

Ingredients:

1/2 cup rolled oats. Not steel cut or instant.

1 tsp each: cacao nibs, chia seeds, hemp seeds

1 Tbs each: chopped pecans, sunflower seeds, raisins.

1 tsp cinnamon, and some more as needed

Directions:

-Bring 1 cup of water to simmer and add oats.

-Lower to medium low, stirring frequently.

-Add a dash more water and the other ingredients except cinnamon. Let thicken until raisins are a little plump.

-Pour into bowl and stir in cinnamon.

*note* I know lots of people don't like raisins, feel free to use half a diced apple or half a mashed banana or handful of blueberries instead. You can also use a little honey or maple syrup instead.

*note note* can also be overnight oats by using a milk alternative and adding all ingredients together in a jar overnight.

Good rule of thumb. Hot meals in winter, cold in summer.

Enjoy!
